OVER 1 000 AT ESWATINI MUSICAL WAR
EZULWINI – Over 1 000 patrons showed up at the third edition of the Eswatini Musical War on Saturday at Mdzimba View Shisanyama.
This was revealed by the lead organiser of the show, Sbu De Drum DJ. Sbu De Drum DJ mentioned that the show was aimed at demonstrating to emaSwati that it is possible to host a successful event featuring only local artists. He expressed joy at the massive attendance, with approximately 1 200 people at the show. The primary objective was to uplift local artists, with over 40 local DJs participating. The event attracted crowds from Steki, Nhlangano and other places in the kingdom. He also highlighted the inclusion of fresh talent, such as Wassabee and Chantel, in this year’s edition.
Attendance
Sbu De Drum DJ expressed gratitude for the attendance and hoped for another successful edition next year. He also extended thanks to Teebos Plug events and Step Up Entertainment for their support. This publication managed to speak to a few patrons who were thrilled to be part of the festivities of the day. One Meluleki Mhlanga highlighted how the fun was non-stop and he remembered dancing with his friends from the moment they got to the event, until midnight when he was interviewed. Other fans were happy to see international social media influencers like King Ginger.
The line-up of local DJs included The Best Duo, Tom and Jerry, Culolam, Bisto, Expo, Zo’leka, Fantacy, DJ Cup, Illa Penboy, Young Zesh, ITX KL, Bandora, Lady Zee, Black Pearl, DJ Maphi, Bay Bash, Orthodox, Paris, Mixmash, The Bishops, Vasco, De Dang, AyaCity, Shawprops, Twenty 11, Sweet Shandis, Teesto, Zulu D and DJ MBO. Additionally, prominent local MCs, including Jumbo, Sintour, and Nqaba, were in attendance. South Africa’s King Ginger fulfilled his commitment to the show, serving as one of the MCs.
