MISS TEEN FINALS DATES REVEALED
MBABANE – Miss Teen finals are scheduled for Siteki Hotel on August 24.
The finals will feature all the regions in the kingdom. This year’s Miss Teen aims to close the gap that existed before, as the competition was not hosted for a while. The challenges that resulted in the pageant being not hosted include lack of sponsors. This year’s pageant looks promising as there are already a few sponsors that have stepped up to sponsor the pageant. These include Oukitel Eswatini, ‘The Wife’ also known as ‘Emfatini Lifestyle’ and ‘Dixie’s International,’ to name a few.
Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) is behind the operations of Miss Teen just like the other pageants that we have in the kingdom. ENCAC is a recognised authority in arts and culture. They strive to develop and promote the preservation of arts and culture pride, while enriching the livelihood of the nation. The event is set to begin at 12pm and goes on until late on August 24. Through pageants such as Miss Teen, young girls were able to communicate, show selflessness and create relationships with other people.
Identity
Every contestant from the four regions is expected to do charity work to prove themselves and their capabilities of working with other people. According to the recently launched arts and culture policy, children are a mirror of society. “Children are a mirror of society, in that the nation sees its achievements and its potential for the future in its own children. Children constitute an important resource and heritage. It is a challenge to parents to make sure that the youth and children are properly guided and moulded in Ewatini’s own culture, this is important for preserving the nation’s identity and pride,” reads part of the policy.
