SWAZI BALLERINAS DANCE THROUGH CHALLENGES ON YOUTUBE

MBABANE – Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) filmed Talent ‘n’ Motion on July 27, and has released the documentary. The vibrant local dance academy was filmed during their Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival rehearsals. Turkish Radio and Television Corporation is the national public broadcaster of Turkey, founded in 1964. TRT was for many years the only television and radio broadcaster in Turkey. It broadcasts around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the United States and Australia.Talent ‘n’ Motion Academy was established back in 2016, with the aim to empower young people through a variety of dance mediums. All in an effort to create a happier, healthier and more open-minded future generation and to empower young people through a variety of dance mediums.


The newly-released documentary is titled ‘Africa Matters: Swazi Ballerinas Dance Through Challenges’. The documentary is available on the TRT World YouTube channel, and at the time of compiling this report, it was sitting on 5 579 views. The documentary presents stories of young local ballerinas, especially on why they joined Talent ‘n’ Motion. Reinelwe Shongwe, who is a dancer at Talent ‘n’ Motion and as one of the dancers featured in the documentary, shared how dancing has improved her life since joining the academy. “When I joined Talent ‘n’ Motion, I was just a shy girl with big dreams. Now I have become a ballerina, stronger in both body and mind. Dancing has changed my life and I want to pass the gift on to others,” Shongwe said.Another dancer who shares more about her life at Talent ‘n’ Motion on the TRT documentary is Ndoniyamanzi Luhlanga, a ballerina, who has achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal at this year’s ‘Dance World Cup’ finals held in Prague, Czech Republic. “We used to think ballet was for rich children in big cities.

Now we know that ballet is for everyone. It doesn’t matter where you are from, what you look like or how much money you have. If you are passionate and willing to work hard, you can achieve anything,” she said.Talent ‘n’ Motion Founder Velile Dube, also shared her insights on the dance academy, citing that she wanted to give the girls an opportunity to believe in themselves. “I founded Talent ‘n’ Motion academy because I wanted to give girls in our community the opportunity to believe in themselves, to dream big and to work hard. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to break out of the cycle of limited opportunities, but I believe dance can provide a powerful way for girls to transform their lives. I want to show them they can be graceful, strong and fearless. I want them to know that the only limits on their potential are the ones they place on themselves.
