MBABANE – NACA Chairperson Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane has announced that nominations for the Eswatini National Arts and Culture Awards (NACA) will be closing tomorrow.

We appreciate the support of all our artists and hope to see more of you at the regional awards,” he said.Makhabane further applauded artists and organisations who have supported them so far. “Together we can continue to celebrate and recognise the immense talent in our country.

Arts

‘‘As we look forward to the regional awards, we ask for your continued support and encouragement as we work to showcase the best of Eswatini’s arts and culture,” Makhabane said. Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley Dlamini expressed his excitement at the variety of genres represented in the entries, citing that it is wonderful. “It is wonderful to see such a rich and diverse spread of talent across Eswatini. The impact of our activations has been tremendous, allowing us to identify and develop talent from every corner of the country,” he said. Gift Masilela from the Eswatini Country Music Association said they are excited about the awards especially that Country music is being recognised in the country. “I am very happy about the recent addition of Country music in these awards as the Country music has been overlooked for the longest time.
This means that our artists will be motivated and they will now see that Country music exists in Eswatini,” he said.

Dynamic

The NACA Awards promises to be bigger and better as they recently got sponsorship from Mollis Group which amounts to E20 000. This means E70 000 has now been injected into the awards as Dot Media recently announced their sponsorship amounting to E50 000. Mollis Group is a dynamic, mission-driven company that specialises in marketing South African-made products on the global stage.

Resources

Lebo Radebe, Chairman of Mollis Group Africa, shared that they are honoured to have partnered with NACA Awards and support local talent. “Our mission is to showcase the incredible talent and resources that our nation harbours, contributing to its economic prosperity. We’re honoured to partner with the NACA’s and support the incredible talent within Eswatini. ‘We hope this donation inspires other sponsors to get on board and show their support for the Arts and Culture industry,” Radebe said.
