MISS ESWATINI VOTING NUMBER LEGIT – STANLEY

MBABANE – Following some members of the public questioning the proposed Miss Eswatini voting number, ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini says the number is legit.
ENCAC is an abbreviation for Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), where Dlamini is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). When the voting lines for Miss Eswatini were opened, some members of the public were concerned about the number +186 2203 4403, saying it might be a scam. During an interview with Dlamini, he revealed the number is legit and people should be comfortable with it, since it comes with the company that is in charge of this year’s pageant competition.

“There is no problem with the voting number because it comes with the company that is in charge of the Miss Eswatini pageant. The number is sponsored by the service provider. As we have said before, we want our pageants to be corporate-driven, from the hosting perspective. I have seen the votes for Miss Eswatini. I get updates almost every week from the directorship of Miss Eswatini. I have noticed an increase in the number of votes, and this shows progress in the voting process. I would like to assure emaSwati that the number is legit and it can only account for a particular percentage. Judging accounts for most of the competition, because votes cannot reflect the personalities of contestants.

"EmaSwati should be comfortable when it comes to voting for their favourite contestants,” Dlamini said. Oukitel Eswatini was given permission to be director of the Miss Eswatini Pageant, during an unveiling that took place at Manzini Arts and Culture offices this year in April. The takeover was announced by Sandra Ismail, who was the Beauty Pageants Chairman at the time. Oukitel Eswatini is a corporate company and, according to Dlamini, they allowed the company to take over for this year because of the competitive nature of the pageants industry. “We are where we are now, because we exist in a competitive environment. “Ours is not only to have agreements with local companies, but also with international companies. It is our wish for local companies to also join the competition, through sponsoring the pageant, especially when it comes to giving us venues for hosting,” Dlamini said.
Worth mentioning is the fact that last year’s Miss Eswatini Pageant competition ended up being cancelled.

One of the contestants from last year’s competition, Kayla Peters, withdrew from the pageant last year in October, before it was officially cancelled. After the cancellation of the pageant, ENCAC went on to announce that they were looking for suitable candidates to submit proposals for the pageant. This year’s Miss Eswatini pageant competition is now headed for the crowning ceremony, which is yet to be announced. Contestants are currently doing charity work and participating in national events such as the Reed Dance and the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF), where they paraded the EITF soccer tournament finals trophy.
