MBABANE – Uncle Waffles will be releasing a remix of ‘Wadibusa’ alongside Joey today.
This was revealed by broadcasting and media production company Kreative Kornerr. According to a post made by Kreative Kornerr on Instagram, Joey Badass and Uncle Waffles have finalised the new project. Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, known by his stage name, Joey Badass, is an American rapper and actor. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, he formed the regional Hip-Hop group Pro Era in 2011, with whom he has released three mixtapes and formed the larger collective, Beast Coast the following year. He signed with Cinematic Music Group as a solo act to release his debut mixtape ‘1999’ in 2012 and it’s follow up ‘Summer Knights’ also from the same year, both of which yielded critical acclaim. His first two albums ‘B4.Da$$’ and ‘All-Amerikkkan Bada$$’ both peaked at number five on Billboard 200 and saw continued critical praise, while his third album ‘2000’ released in 2022 peaked at number 22. He made his television acting debut in the USA Network series titled ‘Mr Robot’.

A sample of Joey Badass’s possible verse for ‘Wadibusa’ was shared as a teaser on Uncle Waffles’s Instagram channel early this year. The song ‘Wadibusa’ is an Amapiano single which was released by Uncle Waffles on April 19. The song features Royal Musiq, OHP Sage, Pcee and DJY Biza. Worth mentioning is the fact that the video hit 1 million views in four days after being released. At the time of compiling this report, the video was sitting on 5 915 500 views. These numbers reflect that the video is growing popular as it is now headed for 6 million views.

Her fans have given her the thumbs up on the remix, and they are already in love with the new song, as some left comments that they could not wait for the release. Also worth mentioning, is the fact that Uncle Waffles will be headlining this year’s ‘Brooklyn Mirage’ show which was hosted in New York on August 18. The DJ revealed on an Instargram post that being only the second act from Africa and the first of many Amapiano acts to headline this venue is a dream for her, and she will be bringing it to life.
