SA’S KING OF SQUATS FOR PHILANI MASWATI CROSSOVER
MBABANE - On December 31, Mbabane will come alive as Philani Maswati partners with the Mbabane East and West tinkhundla, presenting their first crossover party.
This event promises to be a vibrant celebration that will last all night, culminating in the dawn of 2025. Philani Maswati Charity Organisation Chairman Lutfo Dlamini emphasised the event’s goal of energising the community. “We aim to bring Mbabane alive and active during the day and all night until January 1, 2025.” Dlamini also explained that while many perceive Mbabane residents as affluent, there is a significant population facing economic challenges. The crossover party will not only entertain, but also support the elderly in the area with proceeds from the concert earmarked for their benefit.
The event will take place at the Prince of Wales, a venue that Dlamini assured the public would be safe and secure. “We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for all attendees,” he said. Additionally the event will provide a platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to thrive. Vendors will be prioritised during the planning stages when it comes to their stall bookings. The festivities will kick off during the day with engaging aerobics sessions where participants can energise themselves before the night of music begins with the King of squats, Nkululeko Dlamini.
Ticket holders will be granted access to an all-night concert featuring local artists, alongside the much-loved Inkabi Nation artist, Mduduzi Ncube. The event will also highlight a special moment of reflection and aspiration as a powerful man of God, who is yet to be confirmed, will lead attendees in a ‘make a wish’ prayer just before midnight. As the clock strikes 12, revellers will not only welcome the New Year, but also embrace a spirit of community and charity reinforcing the message that together they can uplift those in need. With an exciting line-up and a noble cause the first crossover party in Mbabane is set to be a monumental celebration fostering unity and goodwill among all who attend, as explained by the organiser.
