ENCAC LEADS SHUKUMA ESWATINI EXCERCISES
MBABANE – Madlangempisi Inkhundla came alive on Saturday as it hosted the inaugural Shukuma Eswatini exercises in collaboration with the vibrant realm of arts and culture.
This event marked a significant milestone, bringing together local residents in a celebration of community spirit and engagement.
The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Dlamini, expressed the council’s commitment to fostering community ties through such initiatives. “We organise Shukuma and arts and culture competitions across various constituencies in the country. The ministry partners with us, allowing us to engage in diverse activities, including charity work with our beauty queens. It is crucial for the queens to participate in charitable efforts. We will be regularly visiting different constituencies, where the queens will be involved in charity and exercise. This initiative will also help communities connect with their beauty queens,” he added, emphasising the dual purpose of giving back and strengthening the bond between the queens and the people they represent.

The Shukuma initiative aimed to uplift the spirits of the local community, while fostering a sense of unity and support for the less fortunate. Dressed in workout outfits, the beauty queens rolled up their sleeves and participated in the Shukuma exercises leading the community members in a walk and gymnastics promoting the notion that your health is your wealth.
The day was filled with more than just physical exercise, it provided an opportunity for the beauty queens to connect with local residents. The atmosphere was electric, punctuated by lively cultural performances from various groups in the area. This celebration of cultural diversity created an environment of fun and camaraderie, underscoring the role of sports and arts in fostering community bonds and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The beauty queens’ presence brought joy and excitement, bridging the gap between them and the community they represent. As the queens continue their journey, they are set to make more appearances across various constituencies, spreading joy and positivity wherever they go. Their dedication to charitable work not only elevates their status as local role models, but also inspires others in the community to get involved and make a difference.
The collaboration between the ministry and ENCAC illustrated the transformative power of art and culture, showcasing how these elements can bring people together for a common cause. As the sun set on this memorable day, the sense of accomplishment and connection lingered in the air, a testament to the enduring impact of such initiatives on the fabric of the community.
