MBABANE - Eswatini MTN has maintained their E5 million sponsorship for the MTN Bushfire Festival set to take place at House on Fire in Malkerns from May 30 until June 1, 2025.

The sponsorship was announced during the official launch of the 18th edition of the MTN Bushfire Festival. This year’s theme for the Fesstival is ‘Unity, Creativity and Sustainability’.

Named ‘Top African festival by the BBC and hailed by CNN as one of the ‘seven African music festivals you really have to see’, MTN Bushfire is a conscious, family-friendly celebration of some of the finest music in Africa and beyond, held in an atmosphere of tolerance and inclusivity.

Festivalgoers

As one of Africa’s leading sustainable festivals, MTN Bushfire welcomes festivalgoers to the Bring Your Fire movement of changemakers and creative activists, to be part of the festival’s active expressions of unity in diversity, conscious arts advocacy and inclusive sustainability.

The festival also provides platforms that support national sustainability policies, encouraging solutions-based conversations to address burning issues.

The festival was officially launched by (PM) Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who said the festival does not only play a pivotal role in attracting tourists in the country, but also creates local economic opportunities and boosts the creative economy. “

In the 18 years of the festival’s existence, it has truly solidified its stature as a beacon of global recognition by its unwavering commitment to sustainable, a principle that aligns closely with the vision and priorities of our nation,” he said.

The PM also added that the festival has not only highlighted the importance of celebrating arts, but has also demonstrated a clear and compelling commitment to ensuring that an event of its profile is both environmentally and socially responsible.

MTN Eswatini Chief Executive (CE) Wandile Mtshali said their partnership with the Bushfire Festival symbolises more than sponsorship, it is a shared commitment to connecting people, not only to the digital world, but to each other and the causes that truly matter.  “This mirrors our mission at MTN of being the link that empowers people to stay connected with their loved ones and their communities while making a meaningful difference,” he said.
