Local girl Lyndall Jarvis has been named as the FHM Sexiest Woman in South Africa.
More than one million votes were received for Jarvis - a record for the competition.

“I was ecstatic and it was the first call of the morning. What a way to start your day! It’s such a great feeling and something I didn’t expect at all. I did a little happy dance in my living room,” Jarvis said when called about her win.
She first made her appearance in the May 2008 issue of FHM and was an instant hit with readers.

Jarvis also appeared in the November 2008 issue as well as the annual FHM Lingerie supplement, after which Jarvis secured her first FHM cover in April 2009.

“She’s a showgirl, a party girl who is not only gorgeous to look at, but also exciting and vivacious to be around. She’s unpretentious, has a special aura about her and knows how to turn on her sex-appeal when it counts,” said FHM Editor Hagen Engler.
“To see her work in front of the camera is awesome, and it’s the killer shoots she did for FHM that no doubt won our readers over.

“In fact, I’m looking forward to Lyndall’s forthcoming FHM cover shoot for the August issue rather more than I should!”
Jarvis won the title by a narrow victory. “There were five girls battling it out for supremacy at the top of the FHM 100 Sexiest poll. We are delighted however that Lyndall is our worthy winner,” Engler said.
Jarvis was born in Cape Town, lived in Los Angeles for two and a half years, but promises that she is now back for good.
She has sad news for readers who have fallen in love with her though: “I’m a very lucky girl! I have a wonderful boyfriend who treats me like a princess. We’ve been together for a year and we recently moved in together.”
“He’s a typical South African who loves the outdoors and sport, especially rugby. In fact the only thing we disagree about is that he supports the Sharks and I support the Stormers - no comment on the Super 14!”

Clinched

Megan Fox clinched the international title for the second year running.
Iafrica.com found out more about the sexy thang and this is what she had to say;
Tell us a little about yourself, your hobbies and so on...
I am a born and bred Capetonion who’s been modelling for 10 years already. I have just relocated back to the Mother City after spending two and a half years in Los Angeles.
Hobbies? Well, often go horse riding and I love reading (she’s reading ‘The Fountain Head’ by Ayn Rand). But I would say my newfound favourite hobbie is cooking.

You say you lived in LA? Did you enjoy it? Plans to go back?
No, not really, everyone there is very superficial. It’s all about who you know. People also aren’t very friendly. I did get to model for Chanel, Calvin Klein and so on which was great, but no, I won’t be going back.

How do you feel about winning the title ‘SA’s Sexiest’?
What was absolutely great for me was that so many people actually voted for me, it wasn’t like FHM randomly chose me, which makes it special for me.

You have a video game character modelled after you. Can you describe the character? Are you a gamer?
Her name is Laughing Octopus; she’s evil and pretty creepy... I used to game a bit but I just don’t have time anymore.
What are your future aspirations in terms of work?
I’ve been travelling and modelling for quite some time now. I would like to study beauty therapy actually... I’m really interested in skincare in particular.

So you love to cook... what’s your favourite dish?
Yes, I find cooking very therapeutic and it’s great to cook for my boyfriend. At the moment I am into trying different Thai curries.

Who’s your favourite designer?
Marc Jacobs, definitely...

Finally, what’s your favourite place to just hangout, say on a Friday afternoon?
I would say either Caprice in Camps Bay or Bravo in Moullie Point.
