Women’s Day with Floewe

MANZINI- Guests at the Women’s Day Celebration held at The Jazz Gallery had the time of their lives on Friday night.


The event, dedicated to women, started at 7.30p.m and the attendance was very impressive. The event was planned as a thank you to all her corporate sponsors’. In as much as it was by invite only, those fans who wanted to come join in the celebration parted with E50 at the door . The patrons were welcomed with a free glass of champagne or juice upon arrival.


The show started with awesome poems from talented poet, Joy Magagula. She delivered two poems before giving way to another poet, Skeels, who was also equally awesome. The poets had the audience clapping in excitement.
The lady everyone had come to see and listen to then took over the stage. Fikile ‘Floewe’ Dhladla’s voice filled the room, drawing attention. Everyone was transfixed on stage as Floewe expressed her definition of what a musician should sound like.


She sampled songs from her  album as well as her upcoming offering titled ‘Moya’. She had the audience clapping and dancing, evidently having a great time. She gave out tracks like ‘Ngibambele Duze’, ‘Moya’ and ‘Sukumani’, which she dedicated to the women.


It was indeed an awesome night for all the guests as they listened and watched the most gifted and talented vocalist and composer on the stage.
With her vocal prowess she won many hearts on the night. She gave such a splendid performance, she got  a standing ovation. She took a breather after dishing out a number of tracks, making way for poet Joy. Joy recited a poem dedicated to women, titled ‘She smiles at the future’.
Fans also got the chance to get the signature of the songstress on the single that was on sale on the night. She signed the copies of the single for her fans, giving out hugs to the mesmerised fans.


She again took to the stage after Skeel and gave out her best. After her last track on stage, she called it a night, however, she was called back on stage by the guests who had not had enough of her performance. Floewe obliged, giving her fans what they were asking for.
In an interview with the songbird, she said she was ecstatic that the event went as planned and thanked her fans for the support.
“It was great, everything went well. I was crossing fingers that everything goes according to plan. The response was amazing. I am happy as I had been planning for the event since June,” Dhladhla said.

The event was attended by notable figures in the likes of High Court Judge Qinisile Mabuza, Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture CEO Stanley Dlamini, singer Anita Beamon-Freeman, Bholoja, Zaza, Myles Mumford, Blacknote, among others.
Chord unbreakable also thrilled the crowds with their performances.
The band comprises Daniel Chulu, Paul Banda, Josephat Bandam and Stanley Mwape.

...Moya’ dedicated to God

MBABANE - Floewe’s upcoming album titled ‘Moya’ is dedicated to God.


The songbird related how she was involved in a car accident, where her car was a write off but she came out alive.
She said that was the reason why she came up with Moya.


“This is to show my gratitude to God. He saw me through that accident. I know that if it was not for his intervention maybe I would not be alive. I am forever grateful to Him, that is why I dedicate this album to Him,” Dhladhla said.


She said she released the single, which has three songs, to assure her fans that they should expect something soon.
She is hopeful that the full 12-track album will be a Christmas offering, if all goes according to plan.
