MBABANE – Former Miss Swaziland top five finalist, Tiyandza Dlamini, has been included in the committee responsible for organising the upcoming Zionist Youth Competition.

Dlamini, who is the Brand Ambassador of the Technosol Swazi SMS, has been asked to help in making the competition a success.
Tiyandza is a member of the Kukhany’Okusha Church Youth in Zion which is responsible for organising the event.
Winners of the competition to be held in December this year will walk away with a recording deal which is the event’s main prize.

Preparations

Tiyandza said preparations were already at an advanced stage, saying their intention was to make it one of the best competitions in the history of gospel music in the country.
“We have already secured some of the prizes for the competition. Our main prize is expected to be a recording deal worth E2 000,” she said.
Tiyandza said they had also secured sponsorship worth E9 000 from a local company known as Inyandza Recording Studio.
“The company has been supportive to us and we believe our relationship with them will go a long way”.

She said registration for the competition will begin next month and all the choirs interested in taking part in will be expected to contribute a sum of E120 which is a registration fee.

Date

“Registrations for choirs will be in September and the actual date is yet to be announced. Registration is for all Zionist choirs including those who are not under Kukhany’Okusha branch.
“The main event will take place in December. We are yet to confirm the actual date and the venue for the finals,” she said.

She said the objective of the competition was to bring the youth together to share ideas on how to bring about progress within Zionist churches through their God given talents.
