MANZIN- Gospel artists under ACASWA will host a benefit concert in honour of the late Enock Mkhwanazi.
ACASWA stands for Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland. Mkhwanazi, who was a member of Emandla Egazi Gospel Group was also among the founders of the association.

The concert is scheduled for next Friday at a venue yet to be confirmed.
ACASWA is yet to consult the Mkhwanazi family on the wish of the gospel artists. The decision to host a gospel festival in honour of Mkhwanazi was taken during a meeting held on Tuesday afternoon at the Jamming House in Manzini. Attending the meeting were about 30 artists.
Mkhwanazi died in the early hours of Saturday morning while undergoing treatment at the Mbabane Government Hospital. This was after he was rushed to hospital after collapsing on Friday while performing at a fund-raising event at Simunye.

Mkhwanazi was first taken to the Simunye Clinic before being transferred Good Shepherd Hospital in Siteki.
He was later transferred to Mbabane Government Hospital in a critical condition where he met his death.

He will be buried on Sunday at his home in Siteki after a memorial service to be held tomorrow afternoon.
During the meeting, Mduduzi Simelane of Izinceku Zamagawugawu moved the motion that a benefit concert in honour of Mkhwanazi be held.
Simelane said Mkhwanazi was a pillar of the association and therefore it was important for the artists to pay their last respects to him in a different way.
Initially, Simelane had made a suggestion of having the concert hosted tomorrow.

However. it was felt that since the next day would be the primary elections, it would not be proper for them to host such an event.

Simelane’s suggestion was supported by a number of artists who included Frans Dlamini, Apostle Maculuve, Nhlanhla Mbingo and Nduduzo Matse. Dumisani Manana, ACASWA President, had no problem with the idea after all the artists had indicated that they would like to participate.
The artists decided that a committee that would be responsible for organising the concert where members of the public would be invited.

The committee was tasked to meet all the relevant stakeholders and make sure that they have everything ready by Friday. It was also agreed that all the artists will today visit the Mkhwanazi family to send their condolences. They would all convene at the Jamming House at 1pm.
