MANZINI- South African stand-up comedian Jay Boogie has promised to keep Swazis in stitches during the comedy night on Friday.
The show dubbed ‘Laugh Out Loud’ is scheduled for The Jazz Gallery, starting at 7.30pm. Entrance is E50, payable at the door.

In an interview with the comedian, he invited everyone to the show, promising that it would definitely be off the hook as he would be at his best.
“I promise to carry a stomach surprise for the Swazi audience. I would like to invite everyone to come to the show so that we laugh our stress away,” the comedian said.

Born Jay Mazibuko, Jay Boogie is the rising star of stand-up comedy in South Africa. He has two years under his belt in stand-up comedy. His hope for the future is to become the best comedian that has ever lived.
He will be performing alongside his counterpart, Themba ‘Jazzbuda’ Nhlapo on the night.

Nhlapo has been making people laugh since 2009. He started telling jokes as a defense mechanism back in high school when he was teased about his looks. The constant taunting about his height and big ears meant that he was forced to have genius comebacks that would keep bullies at bay.
He had to think of smart things to say back. A lawyer by profession, he studied at the University of the North. He is doing stand-up comedy part time since November 2009. His exposure to comedy came when he attended a show in Pretoria.

He has taken part and won many of the comedy battles on youth radio station YFM.
Legendary Events’ Nelisa Lawton said they decided to host the comedy nights to give Swazis different kind of entertainment.

“We rarely have such shows in Swaziland, so with the introduction of the comedy nights we hope that those who love comedy will be catered for. These will be hosted monthly with different acts for each month,” Lawton said. He has taken part and won many of the comedy battles on youth radio station YFM.
