MBABANE – The Mr Swaziland Beauty Pageant committee is not looking at having a car as the main prize for the eventual winner.
Instead, the committee headed by Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini is looking at having a prize that would last for life.

Currently the committee is still negotiating with different companies with the hope of securing sponsorship for prizes.
The pageant is expected to be held on February 14 next year and already the process of scouting for the contestants has begun.
Information gathered is that during one of their meetings, the issue of a car being the main prize was raised.

However, there were mixed feelings as others felt that the vehicle would cause more problems for the winner.
It was then decided that a valuable prize worth more than the vehicle be found.
Some of the committee members were tasked to go and talk to various companies about the prizes.

Melusi Dlamini, the pageant director said they did not consider a car being one of their prizes.
“We will be having fabulous prizes but I can confirm that a car is not in our plans. We want to have prizes that would not be forgotten in the history of the pageant. We want the person who will be crowned Mr Swaziland to be an example to others in the community.

We want him to be influential by all means and that is why we saw it proper that we find prizes that would bring an impact to the whole pageant,” he said.
Dlamini assured the public of a good pageant that has ever been witnessed in the history of beauty pageants of the country.

“I can encourage all those who are interested in being part of the pageant to do so because they will not regret why they joined. I encourage other companies who might have the interest in assisting through sponsorship to do so as our intention is to have one of the best pageants,” he said.
