Hey ToddIn response to your qiostuen of WHY? I beleive that God has a purpose for all of us, I recently read a book called outlive your life . I beleive that Riverwood has chosen to spread beyond its resources and extend a lending hand to those that do not have all the assitance at arms reach or perhaps tend to take for granted the services that are offered. Now let me explain, To be honest outliving your life as a missionary to a land of poverty is an extension of gods love and arms that overflows to all countries that may be out of our reach. Locally we have poverty but in one form or another we resist the assitance perhaps from famliy or friends or chose to be impoverished. I know that is hard to understand at times as I struggle financially however, most times it is me and my poor choices that put myself into a fincancial worlwind. Most of us tend to use gods grace as a scratchpad as you have stated instead of moving forward and cleaning up our own messes. These people and children from Swazi are in dire need, and a dire outcry for healthcare( which we often take for granted) food ( which we waste) welfare system ( we take for granted) workers comp ( we often use and cheat) I think the Why is that we as a church see so much more need and appreciative genuinity that comes from the smiles and the hope that is generated in Swazi, to truly know that we are doing good, service of gods will, and that we as a church see the true need in some of these desolate places and that the works of riverwood is not a failure rather a hope, and a work ship that is in progress. I think the Why? is clearly answered that desire that hope and feel that our generosity of a church and our missions can be felt whole heartedly thorough the works of god. God has a plan for all of us to give rather than receive. So the why is so we continue in gods love and grace to GIVE! God bless on your journey and keep you and others safe!
