MBABANE – Music fanatics will be glad to learn that Grammy Award winning singer Joss Stone has included Swaziland in her upcoming tour of Southern Africa.

The singer has chosen Swaziland’s biggest theatre of arts, House on Fire, and her performance is set for Wednesday April 9, 2014.
The good news was communicated by House on Fire’s Jiggs Thorne yesterday.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – so the saying goes. The multimillion selling soul singer has set herself an epic mission: She is about to embark on a record-breaking world tour where she aims to play a gig in every country on the planet and House on Fire is one of her first stops,” Thorne said.

Stone has established a reputation as a world-class musician with over 12 million albums sold worldwide. This year Joss, who is still only 26 years old, has set herself a new challenge: she will shortly be setting off on the world’s first-ever documented Total World Tour during which she will attempt to visit and perform in nearly 200 countries.

In each country Joss aims to collaborate with local home-grown musicians and stars playing indigenous music as well as her own songs.
Joss will also work with a variety of good causes and learn about important humanitarian and environmental issues throughout the trip.
Each gig will vary in size from a stadium concert in Sydney to an acoustic jamming session on one of Burma’s unknown beaches.
In each country she will witness a distinctive musical culture, style and tradition as well as discovering the rhythms, songs, instruments and history that make the sounds of each nation so unique.

Along the way she will be joined by various high-profile artists and friends.
“My mission is to explore and understand the universal language of music in every country on this planet. The result of music has never been a negative one and it shows us that we all have something in common: we can all cry and we can all laugh. Music is emotion and in music we are all one. The tour will be tiring and tough and I know at times very emotional, but it will be a truly amazing journey of discovery and one hell of a ride,” Stone is quoted as saying.

Apart from Swaziland, Stone will also perform in South Africa. Thorne said tickets for the Swazi show will be available from Monday next week in selected outlets.
“Doors will open at 7pm with the main show commencing at 9pm. There will be opening acts and collaborations. We encourage our patrons to book themselves the royal box or table so that they can enjoy every bit of the show,” Thorne said.

The  tickets  cost E150 but are limited.
