GROW WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED!
Are you the type that sometimes finds yourself scrolling your Facebook timeline and come across all your friends’ posts about all of the wonderful things that are happening for them, and thought; “Wow, I can’t wait until God blesses me like that.”
Or how you drool over Instagram posts of another beautiful vacation that your friend has taken with her new man this time; yes I mean another one yet you haven’t had one in, well let’s see, ages! When have you ever had one? And suddenly there goes your good mood and your spirit is suddenly dampened.
You ask yourself, what’s wrong with me, why can’t I find an amazing man? Live in a luxurious mansion, drive a flashy car or even land that big job? Well there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you or your life; you just need to know that we can’t always choose the cards we have been dealt, but we could learn to play them.
Like is a flower that grows through a crack in the concrete. Sometimes we have to make the best of our current situation and bloom where we have been planted. You may not be where you want to be in life just yet.
You may be working a day job that is not your passion and working on your dream through the night.
Keeping our dreams alive is what uplifts the human spirit. But how could we deal with the fact that sometimes we may have to tolerate something that we do not like to eventually get to where we want to be?
And if you let these comparisons infiltrate your spirit, you then become discontent with your life.
Don’t let social media take the focus off of the purpose of this season of your life. Because your life looks like a mess now does not mean it would forever remain that way. I want you to stop doing the one thing that is causing your inner happiness to go bye-bye on you. Remember, we all have a purpose for our lives. It may take you a while to figure it out, but trust me you will. Until you do, I want you to remember something, things WILL happen for you in God’s timing.
So stop comparing your life, your journey, your current situation to other people who you honestly have no idea of how long it took them to get where they are.
So stop complaining about your life and thank God for where he has planted you RIGHT NOW. Indeed it is good to dream, to want better for yourself or family.
But maybe it’s just not time for you to have those things yet, and know that it’s ok.
