He said Swazi Mobile played a major role in making sure that the 2017/18 show was a success. It was through Gamedze’s influence and faith in the crossover concept that saw Swazi Mobile partner with Gawuzela to attract over 20 000 gospel lovers during the New Year celebration. Through Swazi Mobile, the company Gamedze chaired, a sum of E200 000 was contributed towards making the show a success. The show was held on December 31, last year had been organised by Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane, director of Umlilo Music. Gawuzela said he was still shocked and saddened when he received the news that Gamedze was late. “I got a call from a friend minutes after the shooting who informed me that Gamedze had been shot dead. “I did not believe this as I suspected that it was one of the stories that people create,” he said. However, after reading all about it in the newspaper last Monday, I broke down and cried, as that just confirmed my worst fears,” said a somgre Gawuzela. Mincing no words, Gawuzela said the E200 000 sponsored by Swazi Mobile was through Gamedze in his capacity as the company’s chairperson. Support “The show became a huge success through his support and we thank him for that,” said Simelane. He sent condolences to the Gamedze family, friends and the nation at large saying he was aware how Gamedze touched the lives of many people.
