Top Model Eswatini model Pamela Lukhele and now Miss Africa Continent finalist, has literally placed Eswatini on the map by being number one on the voting process. Lukhele is leading with 780 votes and she is followed by Miss Africa Continent Burkina Faso with 577. The top five is also composed of Ghana with 269 votes, Botswana with 117 votes and Tanzania with 66 votes. The Eswatini beauty was revealed almost two weeks ago among other African beauties who are to battle it out for the ultimate crown. Lukhele showed her diversity by branching from walking the ramp as a model to accepting the challenge of being a beauty queen, which is slightly different from the latter. Miss Africa Continent is an annual African event. Its objective is to advocate for plights facing Africa, such as poverty and xenophobic mentality to unify Africa. Joined In a brief interview with this publication, Lukhele said she joined the pageant to be part of the move in changing the African continent and she was happy that the whole of Africa was noticing her and her abilities, as shown by the number of votes. “The number of votes encourage me into thinking that attaining the crown might not be impossible after all. I urge emaSwati to support me and continue casting their votes” said Lukhele. Top Models Eswatini Director Mbali Manana, said she was over the moon. “I did not believe it when I learnt that she was taking the lead as the votes multiplied after she sat at positon three, and this means something about her and Eswatini as a whole. “I kindly urge emaSwati to continue voting for her as this is not just for her but the nation at large,” she said. Miss Africa Continent is slated for 2019.
