Yet again, Standard Bank has sponsored the completion with one third of a million, which is E330 000, for this year’s competition. The bank has partnered with the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs through the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture and the executive committee of the Eswatini Choral Music Association, to bring the exhilarating Choral Music Competition. Growth Choral music in the country has shown immense growth, as just last year, choral music choirs in the country participated in a choral music competition held in South Africa, where the His Majesty Correctional Services choir was the overall winner. “We are very grateful for the continuous support that the bank has been showing us for the past thirty years. We greatly appreciate this sponsorship as it goes a very long way in ensuring that the standard of choral music in the country grows, and this is a testament to the fact that with Standard Bank, indeed, you have a chance to grow and develop,” said Sihle Gumbi, who is the president of the Eswatini Choral Music Association. Mathokoza Sibiya, who is a board member of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture, said that it also gives them great joy to see more EmaSwati being a part of the competition, especially as the judges of the completion are also emaSwati. He also mentioned that as Arts and Culture, they encourage the growth of other associations through the sponsorship of standard bank and choral music. Choirs’ representative, Phinda Dlamini, said that they really appreciated the sponsorship from the bank, and they have produced the best choral music and improved their production because the bank has given them the platform to showcase their talent.
