The young man was watched by hundreds of locals and South African viewers when he appeared on the popular soapie Rhythm City. Wandile Sithole (30), who was attached with the university doing his Associate Degree under the Film and TV production, had his first shot being broadcasted on the soapie on Monday. After succeeding during auditions held early this year, he was asked to record one episode which was a success. He has further on been called by the soapie producers and hopes to sign a contract with them. Their meeting is scheduled for March 12. Sithole has also been told that he would be taking the role of a pastor in the soapie and shoots of his new role would start soon after his meeting with the soapie producers. A more than happy Sithole said he was looking for jobs on the Internet when he discovered that there was an agent that was looking for people who would act on Rhythm City. “I then sent my details and was called for a meeting. The producers were happy with me and I was called for auditions which were a success. I was then told that I would do one episode,” he said. He said after the shoot, the producers mentioned that they were impressed with his talent and asked him to return on March 12. “They said on this day we will finalise everything and I hope to sign a contract. What has raised my hopes is the fact that I was informed that I would be taking up the role of being a pastor on the soapie,” he said. He said he was positive that he will sign a contract with the soapie producers. “During the auditions, I was at my best. I did not believe when I was informed that I had qualified to join the list of actors. Up to now, I still do not believe that shot formed part of the soapie on Monday,” he said. He thanked his family for the support they have given him especially when he informed them that he was going for auditions. “Up to now, I still do not believe that I made it and indeed I am happy. Indeed it would be a dream come true,” Mike Adejide, director of Lethokusha Film Production said when Sithole came to him for attachment, he saw the potential. “He informed me that he would be going for the auditions and I encouraged him because I knew he had the potential. I was happy to see him on TV yesterday and I am sure that he will be given a contract as he is a very good actor,” he said.
