Sifiso Shongwe who is based at the Siteki Fire Station received a call informing him that he had won the car on Christmas Eve. The 32-year-old father of two said he was at home at Luve, but had to return to Manzana, Mba-bane, where he lives in preparation for the presentation which took place at the Ezulwini MTN Swaziland offices yesterday. He entered the MTN Win-A-Car Competition about a mon-th ago. "I had accumulated 1 007 points, which means I had spent over E400 on airtime over the past two months," he said. Shongwe said he makes a lot of calls using his mobile phone. This would be his first car since he has never owned one. Shongwe added that his wife, Thenjiwe, who is also participating in the competition, was very excited. Acting MTN Swaziland CEO Wandile Mtshali said the purpose of the promotion was an effort to interact with its customers and to also provide them with an opportunity to win great prizes during the festive season. "We wish to also confirm that we have observed a positive response from our clients towards the Win-A-Car promotion. We are excited to report that in keeping with our promise to give away three cars in the promotion, this is the second car we are presenting to a winner today," he said. Mtshali said they would continue with the E5 000 weekly presentations and urged customers to continue participating in the promotion as they still have another chance to win the last car. The car has features including power steering, ABS, radio and an aircon. MTN launched this coPPmpetition last month. On another note, the acting CEO said the company has taken action to ensure that customers were not affected by network interruptions or blackouts in busy areas this season. "For December 31, we have identified two areas which may experience network congestion which are Esibayeni Lodge and Tums Water World. Our engineers have set mobile base stations at these two areas to increase the capacity and ensure network availability at all times," he said.
