Times Of Swaziland: THREE BEST EVALUATED FOR EQUIPMENT TENDER THREE BEST EVALUATED FOR EQUIPMENT TENDER ================================================================================ Mhlengi Magongo on 03/03/2023 08:16:00 MBABANE – The Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority (ESERA) has awarded three contracts for their laboratory equipment tender. The energy regulator wants to procure a coulometer, a water content analyser and a distillation analyser. ESERA has since entrusted V&H Surgical and Patient Care Supplies (Pty) Ltd. and Greytown SWZ (Pty) Ltd and GYB/SAB Investments to supply them with the said items. Greytown SWZ (PTY) Ltd was best evaluated for the supply and delivery of the coulometer water content analyzer, while V&H Surgical and Patient Care Supplies (Pty) Ltd was best evaluated for the supply and delivery of a distillation analyser. The above-mentioned report was published by the procurement regulating authority, the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA),on their website. The intention to award the company was published on Monday, and if it is not contested, they are expected to begin executing it after a period of 10 working days. According to the procurement regulator, ESERA was looking for a contractor for the supply and delivery of laboratory instruments. Expression Meanwhile, ESERA has issued a Request for Expression of Interest (REOI), which constitutes the formal invitation to businesses to submit their detailed expressions of interest in relation to wind power project development in Eswatini. ESERA said they should be further interested in participating in the independent power producer programme for wind power projects in Eswatini. “This REOI is not a request for qualifications, a request for proposals, or a call for tenders. This REOI merely seeks to identify those who may have an interest in participating in a future wind power procurement tranche,” mentioned ESERA. The deadline to make submissions is February 24, 2022. Due to increased uncertainty in the security of supply and increasing tariffs in the Southern African region, the government, through ESERA, initiated a procurement programme to reduce the country’s reliance on imported electricity by encouraging the development of local power generation capacity for national grid purposes. This Expression of Interest has been issued in an effort to assist ESERA in gaining a better understanding of the wind resource availability as well as the market’s readiness to develop Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects for wind energy in Eswatini. ESERA said the received EOI would be used to evaluate the market’s appetite and readiness to develop IPP projects based in wind technology in Eswatini and would further inform decisions with regards to wind power procurement. “Participating in this REOI is not a pre-condition for participating in future wind power related procurement activities,” added ESERA. ESERA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Skhumbuzo Tsabedze said in the expression of interest documents that respondents of the REOI shall provide their company profile, including their ownership structure. In the case of a joint venture or consortium, he said such information was required from each member, including the role of each member in relation to the REOI. As the requesting entity, ESERA was also in charge of the procurement of the tender as well as its approvals. ESERA requested unsuccessful bidders to submit an application for review with the agency within 10 working days. “All tenderers who submitted bids are hereby notified that a period of 10 working days is hereby allowed for submission of any application for review,” ESERA.
