ART GALLERY’S 30TH EXHIBITION OPENS IN STYLE ================================================================================ BY NTOMBI MHLONGO on 29/09/2015 01:31:00 MANTENGA – The Yebo! Art Gallery on Friday hosted its 30th art exhibition which featured paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs by 16 local artists. The exhibition is titled ‘Infinite Variations’, where SWAKI are also exhibiting the work done by 10 finalists from their first ever Sculpture Competition. The opening saw the Yebo management launching its colouring book for adults which is already popular with orders coming from overseas. “We want to thank the artists we work with; we are inspired by their creativity and love the discussions and support from them. Also a big thank you to SWAKI for supporting the arts in Swaziland with their sculpture competition, we have the winner and nine finalists’ work on display here for this month. Big thanks to US Embassy who have commissioned paintings and sculptures from local artists for the new embassy,” said Yebo’s Aleta Armstrong. Armstrong said they were excited to launch their colouring book for an adult which is also featured in the current issue of the Lowveld Living. “We are getting orders for it from all around the world which is great. We are setting up on Etsy (online website for artists and creative designers and handcrafters) next month, so we can market it and all the artists work online to a greater market,” she said. The exhibition was open last weekend and will now do so only on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. Some of the work will also go to the gallery’s shop at Swazi Candles Centre, where there is great response from tourists who love to see what local artists are doing.
