Times Of Swaziland: ‘CASH-LESS’ MTN BUSHFIRE FESTIVAL 2018 ‘CASH-LESS’ MTN BUSHFIRE FESTIVAL 2018 ================================================================================ BY NONDUMISO MSIBI on 22/02/2018 00:52:00 MBABANE- It is one of the biggest festivals in the world, drawing a crowd of over 30 000 in one venue. Now imagine the queues, daunting thought! Well as the date to this year’s MTN BUSHFIRE FESTIVAL draws closer, it seems like queues will not be an issue. How amazing would it be if the organisers had arranged online purchasing or even better had the option of adding an additional amount onto your ticket so that you can go cashless during the festival? You would do this in a heartbeat! This will be the case in this year’s ‘cashless’ festival. This year MTN Bushfire will become a ‘cashless’ environment. Following on the latest trends in payment systems, guests will be able to create an online account before going to the festival. A cashless environment system makes use of a cashless event card to encourage personal and general safety of the event attendees. It is a prepay point of sale technology that allows transactions with the absence of cash at the time of purchase. All festival goers need to do is go onto the MTN BUSHFIRE online website and register under the Cashless Environment System. Follow the steps which require some personal information after which you will then be allocated a personal wristband. This wristband has an electric device encoded in it which then acts as a key to access a guests unique cashless account. This means one will use the wristband to pay for food, drinks and merchandise at the event without the direct use of cash or credit cards at all vendor locations. The amount of money you choose to load on this account is up to you. Confirming this new payment system was House on Fire’s Communications Officer, Noncedo Dlamini. She said guests will receive the armband linked to their ticket that enables tap and go payments at bars and food vendors on site. Throughout the weekend guests can top-up online or at various top-up stations.
