MBABANE – A man may die, nations may rise and fall but an idea lives on.
Despite the controversy that came with the current reigning Miss Manzini Teen
where she posted a picture that allegedly suggested that she was drinking
alcohol, Winile Mavuso, who is the Director of the pageant, has risen from the
obstacles and is determined to do better during this term of the pageantry.
According to Pageant SD’s Catrien Potgieter, Mavuso approached Pageant SD’s
committee to pitch her idea on how to be better this year while running the
pageant and also shared ideas on how to discipline and choose the right
candidates.
“We sorted out everything and laid out rules and regulations that Mavuso has
to adhere to when running the pageant. It is safe to say that we approve of this
contest and that we will be supporting her fully,” said Potgieter.
On another note, Mavuso said that they are already in the works of launching
this year’s pageant.
“We are back and this time around there won’t be any mishaps as we are
looking forward to grooming the next Queen who will serve as a good ambassador
for the youth,” said Mavuso.
She further said that the launch of Miss Manzini Teen 2018 will take place at
the George Hotel from 2pm to 4pm and entry will be E100. Guests are required to
dress to impress for professional photographs.
According to Mavuso they have organised this year’s launch with the objective
of bringing together fans to appraise them with regards to what they have
organised in this year’s contest.
