Times Of Swaziland: SWAZI JIVE OWES LUGOGO OVER E43 000 SWAZI JIVE OWES LUGOGO OVER E43 000 ================================================================================ BY PHUMELELE MKHONTA on 31/07/2018 01:53:00 MBABANE – Swazi Jive is in another ‘jive’. Hardly a week after they were hauled before the court of law over a debt of E65 581 to Custom Lounge Investment (PTY) LTD, the HipNotik Festival hosts, Swazi Jive, are in another financial woe as they owe Lugogo Sun Hotel. The hotel, located at the heart of Eswatini’s fast developing town of Ezulwini, is a subsidiary of Swazi Spa Development Company Limited. According to summons dated July 26, 2018, Swazi Jive Entertainment Ltd, a company with limited liability and incorporated according to the company laws of Eswatini, owes the stated amount in respect of accommodation or lodging services rendered by the hotel. The accommodation services were rendered between July 6 and 9, 2018 during the HipNotik Festival. Also, Lugogo Sun Hotel prayed that Swazi Jive pay an additional nine per cent of 43 689.50, from July 9 to the date of final payment. The plaintiff, Lugogo Sun Hotel, is represented by Henwood & Company. The defendant, Swazi Jive, has been given the leeway to dispute the claim and if they wish to defend the legal action they should within 10 days of service of the summons, file with the High Court a notice of intention to defend. “The defendant will also be informed further if he fails to file and serve notice as aforesaid, judgements as claimed maybe given against him without further notice to him,” read the summons in part. In another previous case, THASA Group took Swazi Jive to court over claims that they were owed 10 cases of Mofaya Energy drink, eight chairs, one mirror, two computer monitors, a bookshelf, carpets and a pool table which had to be rightfully given back to them. It is worth noting that these are summons served to Swazi Jive Entertainment and further hearing of the matter by the court could commence should the company seek to defend the suit against it.
