FNB SmoothFest 2018 showcased why the artists in the line-up were worth every cent as they delivered the best of themselves at this growing festival which was hosted at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo last Saturday. The line-up included South African and local artists who were not only singing and performing amazingly, but were also dressed in dashing outfits during their performances. Eswatini artists proved their golden worth as they also rendered outstanding performances. Sands, while geared in his lihiya on the head, made many dance while singing his popular hit tracks from his album titled ‘Sands off Time’. Sang He also sang his new songs from his new album and one of the tracks was ‘Emawoza’, a song which he release over two months ago. Zamo was also another artist who represented the country well. While clad in her beige dress and Afrocentric hairstyle, she slang her popular songs including ‘Tinyembeti’, a song which is also a hit in South Arica. South Africa artists who opened the show with style were Jonas Gwangwa, a South African legendry trumpeter and jazz artist, who created a serene mood in his performances. Also, Mahotella Queens stole the hearts of many, especially when performing ‘Umculo Kwaupheli’. Also, Lira was outstanding she mainly sang songs from her ‘Feel Good’ album, which mainly founded her music career. Freshlyground proved they were party starts as they made many dance, especially while performing their ‘Fire is Low’ song which was impeccably led by their lead singer Zolani Mahola. Eswatini’s very own DJ MBO shut it down by dishing out nothing but dance songs which people danced to until morning.
