Times Of Swaziland: ENCAC UNHAPPY WITH CIC MODELLING ENCAC UNHAPPY WITH CIC MODELLING ================================================================================ BY DUDU DUBE on 30/01/2019 00:53:00 MBABANE - “Join at your own risk.” These are the words echoed by Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture’s CEO, Stanley Dlamini when interviewed about the circulating advert on social media that suggests an international modelling company, known as Creative Innovative Concepts (CIC), is looking for 4 000 models in Eswatini, both males and females to join their agency. Dlamini said this initiative should adhere to their regulations or rather inform them as they are the entertainment regulators with the role of ensuring the safety of artists and their craft. “With us, we shouldn’t be celebrating and getting excited that emaSwati will be moving to other countries. We are responsible for looking at issues like human trafficking and other related trafficking crimes. As arts and culture, we are to protect the interest of artists and mostly, to protect the image of the country,” he said. He also emphasised that people with such initiatives should contact them, especially when it involves artists moving out of the country. “Anyone who comes on board with a particular programme or project, especially when it is outside the country or even in the country, should apply to us, for us to ensure that people’s rights and other related politics are taken into consideration,” he said. On the other hand, CIC representative, Anele Shabangu confirmed the call and said they were looking for emaSwati to be part of the ‘moving group of innovators.’ These models are needed for commercials, catwalk modelling, catalogue modelling, body speciality modelling, voice overs and acting extras. “We are looking for both males and females of any age and size. With the big number, we believe the modelling industry is quite wide scaled, aiming at a higher number gives much people an opportunity to try their luck in this gambling industry” she said.
