Times Of Swaziland: MEGASOUND PICNIC LINE-UP RESHUFFLED! MEGASOUND PICNIC LINE-UP RESHUFFLED! ================================================================================ BY PHUMELELE MKHONTA on 24/10/2019 08:40:00 MBABANE – The Megasound Picnic has been faced with last-minute changes! This is after the Megasound Events had to promptly replace South African rapper Nadia Nakai with Naak Musiq, an artist from the same country. Nadia Nakai, real name Nadia Kandava, who was slated to perform at the Megasound Picnic on Saturday, was removed from the line-up on Monday. Megasound Events co-founder Samkelo ‘Zulu D’ Zulu, in a statement, confirmed that the South African female rapper was no longer going to perform in this annual event. “The Megasound Picnic would like to update all revellers and patrons coming to the event that having explored all possibilities, we had to drop one of our artists, Nadia Nakai, off the performance schedule on the upcoming event,” said Zulu. Zulu, who is also MTN SWAMA’s current ‘DJ of the Year’, said the removal of the rapper from the line-up came after her management communicated that the artist had another confirmed event with her corporate partners that she is contractually bound to honour. That event, which resulted in Nadia Nakai being dropped from the Eswatini gig, is to be held at the Capsule Fest in Johannesburg. It is an annual event hosted by her main sponsor. “The management has sent the apology to us in the date clash as the fest dates were not confirmed when the booking was made in May 2019. “No love is lost, and when time permits in future, we shall work with Nadia’s brand once more,” said Zulu. In ensuring the experience is not affected, South African renowned artist Naak Musiq, real name Anga Makubalo, will take up the slot initially scheduled for Nadia Nakai. Naak Musiq’s Manager, Tenny Tshabalala, in an interview, confirmed that the ‘Mamelani’ artist was set to perform in the country on Saturday at the Megasound Picnic. “Naak Musiq will definitely be in Eswatini on Saturday,” said Tshabalala. Another headlining artist from outside the country is South Africa’s Blaq Diamond, the ‘Ibhanoyi’ hit makers. The fourth edition of the Megasound Picnic. will be held at Malkerns Country Club. It will begin at 10am with soccer games. Tickets for the general area cost E150 and they cost E300 for the VIP.
