True to the notion, most local artists have shared their milestones in their growing careers. In the latest news, upcoming rapper Harrison, real name Lunga Dlamini, who is a 25-year-old artist from Eswatini, got his music endorsed by The Game and Bow Wow. Shad Gregory Moss, better known by his stage name Bow Wow, is an American rapper, actor, television presenter, and broadcaster, who came into the limelight in 2000 at the young age of 13. While Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known by his stage name The Game, is an American rapper and actor, who once touched down on Eswatini soil in 2009. The artists both independently started a rap game challenge, where they invited upcoming rappers worldwide to endorse and support their music. Interesting Through a series of screenshots between the artists and Dlamini, Bow Wow shared with the rapper how interesting his music was after he had shared it with him and further invited him to share with him the song, titled ‘Headstruck’ that he would subsequently post on his SoundCloud, Top Mixtapes and YouTube pages, which have over one million followers. Meanwhile, The Game also shared that he was impressed with the artist’s music, which he was willing to promote. “My team and I got this tape I’m presenting called ‘Ahead of The Game’ and I am willing to push your talent through the series,” said The Game. Verified It is worth noting that the conversations Harrison was having with the The Game and Bow Wow were both from their verified Instagram accounts, which boast of 11.5 million and 4.5 million followers respectively. Speaking to the Entertainment Desk, Harrison shared that he had been making music for as long as he could remember; however, the year 2020 was a highlight for him. “I started doing rap music at the young age of 12 and started singing my songs as I got older. I wasn’t perfect with my delivery in rapping but I started growing more and have gotten better along the years,” he said. Dlamini mentioned that while in school, he used to boldly face fellow pupils at assembly and rap in front of the whole school, which is also what has played a role in him making the moves he is currently on. In my final year, I won a talent show which inspired me to keep making more music because I knew I had a talent which I was not afraid to show off. Attributes The rapper also attributes his path in creating music to his cousin, who is Eswatini’s golden boy Sandziso ‘Sands’ Matsebula. “Although we never recorded music together, he introduced me to Subjamz, whom I made my first ever song with back in the day and from that moment I started recording more music with M Seth and other producers. The rapper mentioned that his father is the current Managing Director of the Eswatini Post and Telecommunications Corporation, who shared the excitement with his son and also said he was keen on learning more about what this all entailed. I am currently pursuing a degree in Accounting in North Cyprus and also working with a friend of mine in that country from Zambia who is also a very talented artist, whom I featured on most of my new songs.
