With what many may term adapting with the times, the award winning gospel group, which has serenaded gospel music lovers over the years in the country and abroad will be hosting their second virtual show this coming Valentine’s Day on Sunday February 14, 2021 from 4pm -5pm. Their first virtual show was held last week Sunday. The show will be professionally live-streamed by Evolve Studios and will be aired on the group’s YouTube channel titled Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors TV and will be aired live on their Facebook page where the gospel group will be singing and preaching the Word of God. gospel Lead singer of the gospel group who also doubles as Nkilongo Member of Parliament (MP) Timothy Myeni confirmed that the gospel group would be performing for their fans virtually this coming Sunday and it is worth noting that they have a huge following in the country. “I can confirm that we will be performing for our fans through virtual means for the second time as we performed for the first time virtually last week Sunday,” he said. Myeni said since the COVID-19 pandemic had brought about many changes including the ban on gatherings, which meant they could no longer perform live; their fans had, for the longest time, been asking for their performances and new music from them. With this, he said the gospel group had to try the technological route which has been mainly used by other artists locally and internationally which has been the trend since the COVID-19 pandemic. followers With the group’s Facebook page having over 100 000 followers, Myeni highlighted that the group was exploring this avenue to reach their local and international fans who were yearning for their music. “We thank God for the internet because it has availed us with the opportunity to reach our fans through the music we make for our local and international fans,” he asserted. In the meantime, Myeni said he would be in studio today where he would be recording a new song dedicated to COVID-19 victims all over the world as it would be performed during the live show. He further thanked gospel musician Linda Dlamini, who had helped them manage their social media pages as he was not well equipped when it came to keeping up with the trends of social media. “I would like to thank Linda and Anele from South Africa for informing us as a group about hosting a virtual show and handling all our social media pages and also creating a YouTube channel so that we can perform even though we are not there physically,” he concluded. Loyal follower and fan of the gospel group, Nokwanda Mnisi said she was excited about the virtual show as she was looking forward to worshipping with the group’s spiritual songs again and that they needed this more as it is a trying times for everyone as far as the pandemic is concerned. The gospel ensemble was founded in 2004 and is led by Timothy Myeni. In 2009, the group won a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Selling album and DVD of the year. In the same year, they also won two awards during the Crown Gospel Music Awards which was held in Durban. They are well-known for hits like ‘Christ died for me’, Izulu Khaya Lami’ and ‘Amazulu Avulekile’. In July 2014, they released their 14th album ‘Uyalalelwa uNkulunkulu’. Some of their famous songs include ‘Bakhiphe Moses’, ‘Izulu Ikhaya Lami’ and ‘Uthando’. They have on many occasions sung and shared the stage with big groups like Joyous Celebration, Avante, Rebecca Malope, Sipho Makhabane and many other artists.
