Fun lovers came in numbers at the third edition of the Epic Gig at Malkerns Country Club on the weekend. Fun lovers braved the cold in great anticipation of performance by their favourite musicians. Most hardly left the dance floor and they also showed love to the local acts that performed, by dancing and cheering them on. Zimbabwean dancehall and reggae singer Buffalo Souljah rendered his best, while fusing his songs with the wellknown Amapiano songs. The artist has performed for Epic Gig since its inception, in 2017. Speaking to this publication Buffalo Soulja thanked the Epic Gig team for always having him in their line-up. “Eswatini is like my second home, I enjoy performing here and the love and support they show us,” said the artist. He gave advice to the upcoming artists that they should keep pushing. He shared that he didn’t get to where he is over night, but used every opportunity he got to succeed. Stage AyaCity took the stage and thrilled the fun lovers with his set with new material mostly. It’s worth noting that the Ungenzantoni hit maker opened the stage for South African rapper Senzo Vilakazi known as Kwesta. Kwesta’s performance brightened up the evening, he took to the stage just after 1am. The ‘Ngyazfela Nawe’ artist brought everyone closer to the stage and those who were chilling outside came inside to watch him, as he graced them with his performance. He performed most of his songs that he knew were the crowd’s favourites, which he managed with the assistance of the security guards who tried to calm down the excited patrons. As he was on stage he mentioned that he’s been in the music industry for 15 years. And the reason why he still makes it big, is because he’s the best, and because of his fans, that have been supporting him for 15-years. Kwesta expressed his love to the people of Eswatini for the love and support they always show towards him. “If there’s another Epic Gig and I get the call I’m definitely coming back again. I love the crowd and the place everything is good here and it’s always nice performing in Eswatini,” he said. Blaq Diamond got everyone singing their lungs out when they took to the stage. They sang most of their songs like Summer Yomuthi, Woza my love just to name a few. Performance Somnyama yena yedvwa took (Blxckie) the patrons by surprise as they did not believe that he would pull up. It is worth noting that Blxckie was performing for the first time in the country. The love the crowd showed him when he took the stage proved that they enjoyed his performance. Emtee got everyone jumping with his songs, when he took to the stage just after 4am. The crowd was thrilled to see him and enjoyed his performance. De Mthuda kept the patrons on their feet as they were dancing none-stop. The patrons danced the night away and the performances were a hit. Also, the duo TLT, delivered a stellar perfomance best, especially by delivering their well known song titled ‘Nice Life Problems, Mbube’ which they were then joined by Kwesta whom they featured in the song. Closing for the South African artists was Mr Jazz Q with an epic performance. The patrons danced the morning cold away with his set and they really enjoyed his performance. The dance floor was still on fire by 8am on Sunday morning.
