Times Of Swaziland: UK’S BEAUTICIAN CHIC ENDORSES LOCAL ARTIST UK’S BEAUTICIAN CHIC ENDORSES LOCAL ARTIST ================================================================================ Nombuso Dlamini on 25/08/2022 08:23:00 MBABANE – All the way to the Queen's land! Chi a.k.a, ‘the popin queen’ has chosen Eswatini’s very own make-up artist for a fully funded two months beauty course in the United Kingdom(UK). Local, Pretoria-based make-up artist, Fisiwe Dlamini has definitely been contouring the right jaws and dusting the right cheeks as her work has landed her a UK course to horn her skills, courtesy of Nigerian, UK-based beautician ChiC, who has a based beauty channel with a global audience. The local artist mentioned that she was pleasantly shocked to have caught Chi’s attention, and grateful. “I wasn’t expecting this; I was honestly just doing me and pushing my passion when I got a direct message (DM) on Instagram from the beautician chic. At first I thought it was a scam but later realised that one of my biggest dreams in life had finally come true,” said Dlamini. She further mentioned that it was really surprising because she’s very private and none of her work is on YouTube, but strictly on Instagram. The artist has been in the beauty industry for almost five years now and when she finished her mechanics degree at Durban University of Technology (DUT), she took the decision to take up permanent residency in South Africa, and try out the brushes and powder space and has never looked back. Dlamini will be embarking on a two-month beauty course in the UK which is set to take place from September 5th this year. In her career she has been blessed to work with the likes of Nadia Nakai, Boity and SA Neuron surgeon, Bhekezwa Zuzi. She is one of the first artists in the county to attend a course or even a workshop sponsored by ‘the popin queen’ and she has hosted quite a few, always making it a point that she gets someone of African nationality. The Nigerian -born artist is an advocate for women empowerment and she does these courses to empower other women. “I was given an opportunity and I ran with it, what I do today is all part of what was done for me so my African outreaches are a way of passing on the baton,” read part of the world-class artist page. The beautician chic currently is the number one best make-up artist from Africa; she was first recognised through her popular YouTube videos where she shares tips and new trades of getting the best looks. She’s currently sitting on 1.48 million followers on the channel and uploaded over 1000 videos which always gets over 10 000 views within hours of being posted. She’s the only beauty enthusiast to get recognition from the British Royal family for her work.
