Times Of Swaziland: MIXED REACTIONS OVER GOSPEL SUNDAY MIXED REACTIONS OVER GOSPEL SUNDAY ================================================================================ Times Reporter on 03/09/2024 10:34:00 MANZINI – The low attendance at the Gospel Sunday was attributed to the positioning of the stage by some Gospel lovers. The Gospel show kicked off later than the scheduled time, and most of the fans were not very pleased about that. Local Gospel musician Nothando Dlamini was first on the stage, and her fans were delighted with her performance. The fans resonated with Dlamini’s music as they sang along to every verse during her performance. Next on stage, was Gospel musician Phathwakahle, who gave an electrifying performance and left the crowd yearning for more. In an interview with the musician, she revealed her wish for the Gospel show to return back to the arena. “I am always happy to perform for my country, because the love is always amazing. I have been performing at the Trade Fair for the longest time, thinking back to 2009. Easily “The show is always different every year, but I just wish that we could move back to the main arena. This is because before people could easily spot the show, and it was coincidental because we were all in one place and closer to the exhibition,” she said. One of the attendees, Simphiwe Maziya, also complained because of the placement, saying that this stage had no seats for them. “I am very disappointed because I arrived here as early as 12pm to bring my children to enjoy the games while I also enjoy the Gospel music. I am very tired now. They also did not bring any chairs for us to sit on. If only the games were on this side so that we at least get to sit and watch the performances from the stands,” she said. However, some attendees had different opinions, as they said they were having a great time. Zinhle Magongo said it was her third show, and the Gospel Sundays were her favourites. “I am having so much fun at the show. I love attending because the whole family is catered for. Games “The children are playing games, some men are watching the games at the stadium and most ladies are here to enjoy the Gospel show,” she said. Nonduduzo Mhlongo said it was her fourth time. “I am very happy to be here. I am also blessed by the live performances. I am definitely looking forward to the next Gospel Sunday show.”
