The original version of the song ‘Tanzania’ was released by Uncle Waffles on March 16, 2022 and it features the likes of South African musicians Sino Msolo, BoiBizza, and Tony Duardo. German musician Rampa has now remixed the single alongside Uncle Waffles. He confirmed the new collaboration early this week through his Instagram page. His caption was mainly targeting fans to immediately jam to the new track. “Tanzania remix, better late than never,” he said. Afrocentric Growing up in Freiburg in Germany’s Black Forest and relocating to Berlin, Rampa started Keinemusik back in 2009 alongside long-time friends Adam Port, David Mayer, and Reznik, with label artist Monja Gentschow completing the six-man operation. Rampa specialises in Afrocentric prog-sound that refuses to stand still, with his productions and DJ sets constantly pushing in different directions and offering slick changes of pace. Uncle Waffles has now become the first liSwati to collaborate with a German DJ. Having captured the attention of international superstars such as Pharell Williams, ASAP Ferg, Drake, Ciara, and Missy Elliott, to name a few. Collaborated Having collaborated with Rampa, this will help her brand continue to grow beyond borders, and another advantage is the fact that she will be getting royalties for the song whenever it is played. During her debut at Brooklyn Mirage this year, she also surprised fans with a remix of her recently released single ‘Wadibusa’ where she featured American musician Joey Badass. Joey Badass also shared some words of appreciation to Uncle Waffles, applauding her for giving her stage time during the show. “It was a lovely performance, and I am forever grateful to Uncle Waffles for doing this with me,” he said. Amazon Music also described their performance as ‘electrifying’, in line with the energy that they showcased while on stage. Neo-R&B songstress Elaine, Afro-pop singer-songwriter Nomfundo Moh, pop R&B star Nanette, and Amapiano DJ and producer Uncle Waffles will each feature on the cover of Apple Music’s Alpha playlist in August to celebrate their new releases on this premiere playlist. Apple Music’s Alpha playlist highlights female artists who are historymakers and game-changers in their respective genres. In receiving this honour, they join the likes of Beyoncé, who was the first artist to grace the cover of the new playlist earlier this year. The women were unveiled as Alpha cover stars at a media event hosted by Apple Music Africa Now Radio host, Nandi Madida. During an interview with the South African online publication ‘Glamour’, the musician shared her excitement for being recognised.
