MBABANE – Miss Culture Global Eswatini representative, Melinda Mavuso still
manages to keep Eswatini in the top five.
Tomorrow the beauty queen is set to take to the stage in Sandton in South Africa
for the pageant’s grand finale which will take place in Cedar Woods. Eswatini
is currently in third place on the scoreboard, with Malawi leading the pack. In
an interview with Mavuso, she said she cannot wait to enjoy herself and give it
her best shot. ”I am looking forward to the day. Being here has been so
refreshing and amazing, because I am learning a lot from my fellow sisters.
Culture is so beautiful,” she said.
This is not just a personal triumph for Mavuso, but a significant moment for the
nation, reflecting a collective belief in her potential and the importance of
cultural identity. This affirmation from emaSwati has infused her with hope and
energy, propelling her forward in the competition.

quality time she spends with the other beauty queens and the lessons they are
teaching each other. “I feel like we are all winners already, because as much
as we are competing but I can say proudly that I have found myself sisters in
these beautiful and amazing queens,” she said.

acknowledging one’s roots can open doors to numerous opportunities while
preserving the essence of culture for future generations. “I hope to make a
statement that acknowledging your cultural identity can take you places,” she
