MBABANE – International industry giants, predominantly from South Africa, are
set to appear as panellists at the upcoming Arts Summit.
Hosted by the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), the summit,
scheduled to take place from January 29-31 at the IDM in Matsapha, will bring
together experienced professionals from various aspects of the creative sector,
including film, television, music and entertainment law and event management.
This dynamic gathering aims to explore new opportunities, share invaluable
expertise and facilitate critical discussions on pressing issues such as
intellectual property (IP) rights, royalties, funding and more.
The guests of the highly anticipated summit were revealed by Eswatini National
Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley
Dlamini during an interview with this publication. “As part of the film and
television panel, South African experienced Drama Director Herbert Hadebe will
be the guest speaker. Hadebe has over 15 years of experience in the film and
television industry. He currently works on two drama series for Urban Brew
Studios, Mzansi Magic’s ‘Zabalaza’ and e.TV’s ‘Gold Diggers’.

He was nominated as an Emmy juror by the National Film and Video Foundation,
which, as a partner and member of the International Emmy Awards, enables the
South African Film and Television industry to participate in the judging,” he
said.Another prominent guest who will be a part of the film and television panel
is Stanley N. He has worked with Netflix and the South African Broadcasting
Corporation (SABC). Another prominent guest will be Dumsani Motsamai, an
entertainment lawyer who represents Open Mic Productions, where Master KG is
signed.
Dlamini further shared the main objective of the summit. “During the summit,
we want the guests to reveal available opportunities from the international
stage, which our creatives can take advantage of. We encourage creatives to
attend in large numbers to learn about such opportunities that will benefit
them,” he said.
The arts summit will provide a unique platform for creatives from Eswatini to
network, learn from seasoned professionals and gain valuable insights into the
ever-evolving creative industry.
