MBABANE – The top 10 contenders vying for a chance to perform at this year’s
MTN Bushfire Firefly were announced on Friday.
This announcement took place during the launch of the MTN Bushfire Festival held
at the House On Fire Amphitheatre.  The selected artists are Ace Julz, Nelly
Noll, Quekey, eMStar Teaniba, Hapkoo, Celumusa, Hailey, K Darrow, Wess June Ten,
N Kay and Smally. Their inclusion in the top 10 reflects the dynamic talent
emerging from Eswatini’s music scene.
Enhancements
During an exclusive interview with this publication, Penny Bauer, Director of
the MTN Bushfire Firefly competition, shared insights about the exciting
enhancements made for this year’s event. “We’re really proud of the
strides Eswatini artists are taking and we were impressed with the quality of
music submissions and EPKs. A significant development is that the top 20 have
been given the opportunity to onboard and have their music featured on MTN
CallerTunez. There is also a copyright onboarding opportunity,” she said.
Bauer’s enthusiasm for the local music landscape is evident as she emphasises
the importance of providing platforms for emerging talents. The additional
exposure through CallerTunez is expected to enhance their reach and recognition.
The MTN Bushfire Firefly continues to serve as a vital platform for aspiring
artists, allowing them to showcase their work and connect with a broader
audience.
Activities
This year’s festival promises to build on the success of previous editions
with an exciting line-up and various engaging activities.
