Times Of Swaziland: Dazza' is back with a bang! Dazza' is back with a bang! ================================================================================ MVULA SIBANDZE on 26/09/2010 00:00:00 Darren Christie is undoubtedly one of the hottest and most talented soccer players Swaziland has. He has just recently come back from the States where he was studying at the University of Delaware, South of New Jersey. He says he can be ignorant and naive at times, but is definitely a nice person. He will be graduating in January next year and says he is a big football fanatic. During his spare time he enjoys sitting at home and watching soccer on TV. “I love sitting at home and watching my favourite team Barcelona play,” he adds. He says he started playing soccer at a very young age and it is one of the few things that he enjoys doing. Style had an opportunity to visit his home at Waterford Park and this is what dazzling ‘Dazza’ had to say... STYLE: Hey Darren, thanks for meeting with us. DARREN: I am good thank you and you are welcome. STYLE: Can you describe yourself in three words? DARREN: Well, I am a bit ignorant and naive, but I am generally a very nice guy. STYLE: Where do you get your inspiration from? DARREN: (thinking) Well, one does not need to go far to inspire me. My friends Taribo and Sandile Mdlovu inspire me a lot in their game of soccer. People around me also just inspire me. STYLE: Can you tell us about the time when you were in the States. DARREN: I had a fantastic time while I was there. I was in a good environment and I was well taken care of. The hardest thing that I am facing in my life is having to change my lifestyle. I stayed there for four years and it was some of the best years of my life. STYLE: When did you start playing soccer? DARREN: From a very young age. Football was my first love. STYLE: If you were to be stuck on an island, what are the three things that you would take with you? DARREN: A soccer ball, my loved ones and my iPod so that I can listen to music. STYLE: Who is the one person you would like to wake up next to? DARREN: Odriano Limo. I just think she is too sexy. STYLE: Do you have a girlfriend? DARREN: I would like to leave this one open. But, there is someone that I like. STYLE: Who is the sexiest woman in Swaziland according to your standards? DARREN: Right now I am not sure, but way back while I was in high school I used to think Bachazile Bulunga was sexy. She was still in school too. I think Amanda Du Pont is also very sexy. STYLE: What is the last thing you do before going to bed? DARREN: (laughs) I always check if I have a missed call or message on my phone. STYLE: What is your dream car? DARREN: I am not so much into cars but I wouldn’t mind owning a Bugatti. STYLE: Boxers or briefs? DARREN: None STYLE: Tell us about your best moment? DARREN: I really enjoyed my time in Denmark. I went there in 2009. I trained with Esbjerg bf. They are a top team in that country. I have always wanted to play with a big club. That was really my ‘wow’ moment. I remember going to training one day and thinking ‘wow, I am actually here!’ I just thought, yeah Darren Christie has arrived! STYLE: and your worst? DARREN: I hate it when people judge me based on what somebody has told them about me. STYLE: When is your birthday? DARREN: November 21. STYLE: Who is your celebrity crush? DARREN: Kelly Rowland. When I was younger I really loved her. She was just the type of woman one could take to their mother. She has changed a lot though.
