Times Of Swaziland: Youth Talent winners get their prizes Youth Talent winners get their prizes ================================================================================ BY NOMBULELO MATSEBULA on 20/08/2013 01:51:00 MANZINI- Winner in the Youth Talent Show competition Mpumi Mkhabela was presented with a scholarship worth E20 000 by Workers’ College. This was during a prize presentation held at Swedish Free Church in Manzini on Saturday. The competition was run by the Swaziland Conference of Churches from June 22 to August 11. Mkhabela got the most votes in the poetry category outclassing her counterparts. She also won herself a meal at Nando’s as well as a movie ticket, courtesy of Movie Zone. Seven-year-old Tebenguni Simelane, who won first prize in the dance category and her runner-up Temalangeni Dlamini were presented with their prizes as well. They both won dance lessons from Vintage Studios, where they will be undergoing extensive training. They were also presented with blankets. In the Stand-Up comedy division, Giyani Msibi won first prize which was an iPad sponsored by PC Systems. Msibi was competing against Nduduzo Nkonyane and The Apostolic Faith Mission (Ngonini). All the winners in this category were presented with blankets. All the contestants were presented with prizes ranging from blankets, movie tickets and meals at Nando’s, among others. The churches that came up tops in the competition, winning themselves profiles with this newspaper include Divine Healing Ministries, Mbabane Alliance, Apostolic Faith Church and Izikhova Ezimncini. Other churches which had partnered with the Swaziland Conference of Churches to use the short code 7070 were also presented with the prize money. These include Pigg’s Peak Alliance, Bhunya Alliance, Trust in Christ, Ngogodla Alliance and Ngwane Park Alliance. The 7070 short code is a way of raising funds for the Christian Media Centre and it is done monthly “We are grateful to the churches that supported this event.
