Times Of Swaziland: OSKIDO, HEAVY-K FAIL TO PITCH FOR INTERVARS BASH OSKIDO, HEAVY-K FAIL TO PITCH FOR INTERVARS BASH ================================================================================ BY NHLANHLA MATHUNJWA on 10/03/2014 04:12:00 MANZINI – South Africa award–winning artist Heavy-K and popular spinner Oskido failed to pitch up for the Intervarsity Games Opening Bash. Both artists were expected to perform during the bash which featured ‘Y’tjukutyja’ group Uhuru held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Friday night. This left about 100 music lovers disappointed as they had hoped to dance the night away with the artists. Information gathered is that despite the artists being paid, according to the organisers, the artists did not give proper reasons why they did not feature during the show. Heavy-K is said to have arrived at Mavuso at around 7pm and stayed briefly before driving back to South Africa. On the other hand, Oskido was reported to have failed to cross the Ngwenya Border on time as he had another performance elsewhere before driving to Swaziland. Report Maxwell Dlamini, UNISWA SRC President, confirmed that both artists did not perform, saying they were yet to receive a formal report on what transpired. “All the artists were paid. I was told that Heavy-K arrived early but opted to drive back to South Africa. I am yet to get the reason why this happened. The only artist I am aware of is Oskido as I received a report that he could not make it into the country on time as he started performing somewhere else,” he said. Dlamini said they were yet to engage the managers of the artists as they also need an explanation on what really happened. “It is a pity that I was not hands on as I was called and informed about the situation. It would be proper that I get the relevant people so I can be in a position to give proper details,” he said.
