Times Of Swaziland: PIGG’S PEAK BASH, YAMNANDI’NTO! PIGG’S PEAK BASH, YAMNANDI’NTO! ================================================================================ BY NTOMBI MHLONGO on 31/03/2014 05:36:00 PIGG’S PEAK – The Gobolondlo Hall in Pigg’s Peak came alive on Friday night with the Earcandy show which featured South African artists Shota and Cndo. Around 500 people came out to have a good night of fun at the venue despite the cold weather conditions. The way they packed the venue and did all crazy stunts throughout the night made one conclude that the small town has been hungry for such nights for a long time. Interestingly, the event looked like it was going to be counted among the biggest flops of the year as by 10pm there were less than 50 people inside the big hall while the parking area had about ten cars. By 11pm, the entrance got busy with fun lovers coming in droves. By midnight the hall was fully packed with young people dancing as if their lives depended on it. With the fabulous MC being none other than Manzini socialite Frankie Dlamini, everything was on point in as far as music and dancing was concerned. Focused Dlamini did his job perfectly well as he not only focused on the microphone but also joined the fun lovers on the dance floor to show off his dancing skills. They seemed excited to be dancing next to him as most of the ladies challenged him to a dance battle. As if celebrating something big, the fun lovers gathered in circles and danced to the different songs which were dished by the deejays who included Master-P, Mbo and Karly B among others. Wanted Worth noting was the fact that the crowd didn’t care much about deep house tunes but wanted the latest kwaito hits by groups such as Uhuru, Big Nuz and Mafikizolo among others. They also responded well to some of the old tracks from music greats such as TKZee, Mdu and the late Brown Dash. While one would have thought that the distance would scare some, there was quite a number of fun lovers from the Manzini-Mbabane corridor as well. In the end the show proved one thing-Pigg’s Peak people love fun and they can dance!
