Times Of Swaziland: SA men come to SD hunting for sex SA men come to SD hunting for sex ================================================================================ The Editor on 01/12/2009 00:00:00 Sir, It does come as a shock for such a tiny country as Swaziland to be leading in infections like HIV/AIDS, but not to me. As scary and de-motivating as it is to see our country instead of topping the worlds richest because of its size, it tops the world in diseases and all the wrong things. It does not surprise me any more anyways. Our leaders are greedy, greedy, greedy! There is a high rate of corruption! Those who are at the top of the food chain are perverted in every sense of it. We are starving, there are no job opportunities! What more would one expect? We have the most beautiful girls in the land and they give themselves to so many rich men who aren’t serious about marriage because they are hungry and desperate to build for their mothers. South African men come here hunting for easy sex, when the weekend is over; they pack and go to their wives in their home country, what then do you expect? Swaziland is known on the ground, for having the most beautiful and cheap women, who doesn’t know that? The Umhlanga ceremony, as well, has since gained popularity for men from all over the world who come hunting for easy women and they get them. Who does not know that that is how HIV/AIDS is spread? But we still promote these things? Die We publish it in the news as if it’s something to be entirely happy about when in actual fact it’s degrading mostly to our women. We need to wake up as Swazis or we will die! We as young men of this country get the infected rejects from these South Africans or whites from all over the world’s so-called business people if not tourists, my foot! To the local Swazi governance system, there is the truth, we know it, you know it and it is out in the world now to see how weak and floppy you are for not being able to keep things like AIDS and economy under control, in such a tiny and blessed nation as this. You have to be kidding me! The king goes with people whenever he goes overseas who fail to copy from nations like Qatar and how they have their countries under control? What excuse will they have? We are lucky South Africa took a portion of this land unto theirs; we wouldn’t be able to handle any more hectares of land if what we currently have kusehlula kanje! Shane Harris Shane, Excellent point, especially how some of the so-called tourists have come in here and ‘enjoyed their weekends’ with the locals. However, I believe it is up to us to defend our culture and therefore if the impression is created that the reed dance is an event that should allow horny men to have their way with our beautiful maidens, then we need to both speak against it and discourage it. I do believe we all ought to be proud of this beautiful culture of ours and defend it with all we have if it is misunderstood, even purposely, by people for their selfish gains. It is a good tourist attraction, and therefore let us use it profitably. The unfortunate thing about this country is that the leaders and politicians have not taken the fight against HIV/AIDS seriously and you will look around for incidents that suggest that it is business as usual in many aspects that perpetuate the stereo-type, hence we are struggling to contain the pandemic.
