Times Of Swaziland: WOMEN ARE NOT SAFE WOMEN ARE NOT SAFE ================================================================================ The Editor on 25/08/2019 22:02:00 Sir, Women are raped on the street where they should walk fearlessly in Eswatini. We cannot leave our children in our homes in this country because some of our relatives have become sexual predators to them. We send our children to school to learn and build solid foundations for their futures, but their teachers sexually harass them Churches should be places where people find peace, love and joy but our pastors take advantage of young women. Inyandzaleyo MaSwati baphela bomake. Jobs Women look for jobs to support their families but employers demand sexual favours in exchange for that. Why are women rights being violated in this way? Is this democracy freedom fighters fought for? When will this come to an end? Should women continue to commit suicide because the Eswatini law has failed them? Defend Should they die because they cannot defend themselves? Surely someone should be blamed for this issue. They are all citizens of the country and deserve to live a happy life. They have a family also to support just like you and me, so why not protect them, what must they do? Women should stand on their own feet and fight for what they believe in and whatever challenges they come across they need to pull together. If I were to detail everything I would need the whole edition of the Times of Swaziland and still that would not be enough. If being home or in the church is not safe anymore so where else can women and children be safe. Comfort People go to church to comfort their miserable souls but instead get raped by so-called men of God. I still wonder what goes through the mind of a man who rapes a woman or child. What makes it more awful is that some of the victims are raped by people they trust. Kuvisana buhlungu shem. So we need to find ways to educate men about their roles in society and family.
