Times Of Swaziland: MASWATI, LET’S BUILD SOCIETY FREE OF KILLING MASWATI, LET’S BUILD SOCIETY FREE OF KILLING ================================================================================ Editor on 24/11/2024 06:33:00 Madam, The killing of women yindzaba yetfu sonkhe in Eswatini, and it continues to be a significant problem. The figures that are released are shocking. Some women put food on the table for their families and take care of all their home needs. Men should talk about their problems and stop killing their beloved women. Women cannot continue to lose their lives every day because of their partners who vent their anger on them. Mistakes, problems and disagreements are part of relationships, but killing is not the solution. Violence against women is rooted in widely accepted social norms that too often contribute to male entitlement, domination and control over women. Please stop killing our mothers. Men must protect and give women the love they deserve without violence. Killing Stop killing our women and talk about your problems, yindzaba yetfu sonkhe le maSwati. Make a big difference and build a better tomorrow without femicide. Inyandzaleyo, maSwati. Sekubi manje Eswatini. Government also needs to take steps to protect women. Uma ungasamufuni muyekele. The time for action is now. Killing is a sin. What does one gain from such violence? The answer is nothing. Why are women being killed so often that it no longer shocks people? Women are human beings created in God’s image. How can one person kill four women at the same time? More children will be added to the already high number of orphans in Eswatini. Who is going to take care of these children now? What makes some of our people behave like animals? Even animals are not killed like this. May I urge all community members, churches, and other organisations to join hands and stand against gender-based violence and femicide? We are all under the same umbrella, maSwati. Enough is enough. Women cannot be dying at the hands of their partners! Sibabulale lani bantfu betfu? Do we love them when we kill them? The answer is a big no. We all need to stand up as a nation and fight this issue because it is getting worse every day. Stop killing our mothers. My heart bleeds because I was raised by my late mother (Grace) who loved us as her children. May her soul rest in peace. It is so painful to live in such a time as this. Our mothers, sisters and daughters are perishing day by day. Lord, have mercy on us. I hope societies will stand up together and put an end to GBV. Edwin Dlamini Sandlane
