Times Of Swaziland: WOMAN GANG-RAPED AT WANDERERS CLUBHOUSE WOMAN GANG-RAPED AT WANDERERS CLUBHOUSE ================================================================================ BY JABULISA DLAMINI on 11/09/2015 07:10:00 MANZINI- A woman (33) was allegedly gang-raped at the Manzini Wanderers clubhouse situated at Ngwane Park. The incident, which was recorded through the windows, allegedly by some of the team’s players and members of the public, is said to have occurred on a Sunday, three weeks ago, after midnight. This publication is in possession of images of the woman (whose name is known but will not be revealed for ethical reasons) allegedly taken by members of the public, who were watching the ordeal from outside the room where it occurred through the window. The woman, who is married, is said to have left a popular drinking spot, also situated at Ngwane Park, after it had closed and headed to the clubhouse with her friends, mostly males. They are alleged to have convinced her and decided to purchase alcoholic drinks to enjoy at the clubhouse. When they got there, they imbibed the alcoholic drinks and one of the male friends allegedly locked her in one of the bedrooms and forcefully undressed the woman before raping her. After he had allegedly finished raping her, he is said to have allowed another man to enter and continue raping her. Most people, who are circulating the video footages and pictures on social networking sites, when interviewed, confirmed that the woman was raped by the two men, whose names are also known to this publication, but will not be revealed as they have not yet been formally charged for the offence. We were all there and we could not stop them from their horrible act as the door was locked. Most people took pictures and video clips as she screamed for help and requested them to use protection as she did not want to fall pregnant,” one of the members of the public, who refused to have his name published, said. The woman’s marriage is said to be on the rocks after the incident. The husband, during an interview, also confirmed knowledge of the rape incident and said more than the incident, he was not ready for humiliation from the public. “I have always warned her about her behaviour after drinking alcohol and she did not want to listen, now all this embarrassment will come back to me as her partner,” the husband said. The woman also confirmed the incident and that she had reported the matter to the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID). “I have lived with the shame and consequences of the incident for the past weeks. The emotional repercussions have been enormous. I have suffered from clinical depression, panic attacks, nightmares and many symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder ever since. I decided to report the incident and not open a case against the men because I am well-known in the city and I feared humiliation above everything. However, I have decided to open a case after I had been advised by many people,” the woman said.
