Times Of Swaziland: MAN PULLS OUT GUN ON BROTHER, TWO OTHERS HACKED MAN PULLS OUT GUN ON BROTHER, TWO OTHERS HACKED ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO ZWANE on 22/06/2017 01:42:00 KANGCAMPHALALA – The feud between sugar cane hauling companies has turned to a warlike scenario as a man pulled out a gun on his brother, while two other people were hospitalised after being hacked with cane knives. These are the new developments that took place in the ongoing feud between Kwasabalimi and Jozana Suppliers (PTY) Ltd, over a contract of harvesting and transporting sugar cane belonging to Lomdashi Limited. After E2.1million sugar cane fields were set ablaze over the weekend, Chief Mshikashika II of KaNgcamphalala Chiefdom summoned the directors of Lomdashi Limited and executive members of Kwasabalimi Company to a meeting held at the royal kraal yesterday. During the meeting, one of the directors of Lomdashi Limited told the chief that when they were approaching the gate of the umphakatsi, his brother, who is an executive member of Kwasabalimi Company pulled a rifle from his car and pointed it at him, accusing him of taking a tender from his company which belonged to the community and awarded it to a corporation from another community. He said his brother told him how his car was ravaged by a gang allegedly brought by the corporation he awarded the tender to. Furthermore, two people who were in the car were hacked with cane knives and assaulted with iron rods. When narrating the incident to this publication, the director said it all started when Kwasabalimi Company members forcefully entered their farm, set alight sugar cane fields and further harvested it before loading it on their trucks with the aim of delivering it to Big Bend Mill. He said while doing this, they blocked Jozana Suppliers trucks from going in and out of the farm, yet they had a court order declaring them as the winners of the tender to harvest and transport the sugar cane from the farm to the mill.
