Times Of Swaziland: SENONE KAKHULU - BHEKIBANDLA SENONE KAKHULU - BHEKIBANDLA ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO ZWANE on 26/02/2018 08:53:00 RICHARD’S BAY, SOUTH AFRICA – There was silence in the tent as Archbishop Bhekibandla Vilakati read the Riot Act to his church members. This took place during the Red Gown Sect members (Bongubozibovu) cleansing ceremony which was held at Richard’s Bay, South Africa, over the weekend. The ceremony started with a vigil on Saturday and ended with the cleansing of the church members in the Indian Ocean yesterday morning. During the vigil, the archbishop read a Bible verse from Exodus 23:20 where it says; “See I am sending an angel ahead of you to guide you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion since my name is in him. If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and I will oppose those who oppose you. My angel will go ahead of you and bring you to the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusities, and I will wipe them out. Do not bow down.” He said angels had turned their backs on the church because the members were no longer doing things by the Holy Book. He said there were many immoral things that had been done by church members and they did them using the name of the angels. “Senone kakhulu nitsi nitfunywe yingelosi (you have committed a lot of sins using the name of the angels and now they have turned their backs on the church.” He said to his surprise, most of the people who had done this did not even know what an angel was. He said according to the Holy Bible, angels were suppose to lead people to prosperity, success and win battles in life, not to be used in committing sins. “It is simple; do what the Holy Bible says and you will be successful in everything you do.” He said God’s name was within the angels’ names and that was why the Holy Bible says you should not put an angel behind you but let it lead you. The archbishop said it had been noted that people in the church were bringing things they practise in their homes into the house of the Lord and by so doing, they confused and tempted the other church members into doing things which were against the Bible. “Now it seems like most of you are Jerichos by your church gowns, not in practice because of the things you do. You have irritated the angels from the church. “Leave your things at home, do not bring them into the church because this is the house of the Lord,” he said. Drunkards The archbishop then hit the nail on the head by telling the church members that most people now perceived the Jericho Church as a home for tinyanga (traditional healers) and drunkards among other things that did not belong in the house of the Lord. “This is not a home for traditional healers but a Christian fellowship,” he said. On that note, the archbishop emphasised that angels had left the church because of the church members who used, their names (angels) to do wrong things.
